On Monday the Meek Mill "Dream Chasers 2" mixtape download was released online and had fans buzzing. The new mix album from the Philadelphia rapper came in conjunction with the Maybach Music Group star's recent 25th birthday, which was celebrated in grand fashion.
According to MTV.com, that birthday celebration was one of major opulence. It featured an exclusive yacht birthday party, ice sculptures, guests galore, and a black Range Rover Sport as one of his birthday gifts. Not a bad present to receive for turning 25 years old. Among those on hand were Rick Ross (the Range Rover gift giver), Wale, French Montana, DJ Drama, and Lou Williams of the Philadelphia 76ers. The birthday also brought with it a gift for fans, in the form of the brand new Meek Mill mixtape, a free download.
In all, the new mixtape features a total of 20 tracks for hip hop fans to peruse. Among the tracks on the new download are "Amen," a standout collaboration which features rapper Drake and singer Jeremih. The album doesn't skimp on guest features, either, as it includes Fabolous, Kendrick Lamar, Wale, Trey Songs, Mac Miller, French Montana, and Rick Ross. Among the production involved on the project are Cardiak, KeY Wane, All Star, Beat Bully, and Jahill Beats.
Meek Mill is the protegé of Rick Ross and has hit songs including "Tupac Back" and the newer song "Ima Boss," which had both a regular and remix version (pictured above). Meek was also heavily featured on the MMG volume 1 collaboration album that achieved massive success a year ago. This latest "Dreamchasers 2" is a follow up to his previous "Dreamchasers" mixtape hosted by DJ Drama back in 2011. Not only that, but this will be a preview of his upcoming studio EP, titled "Dreams & Nightmares," which looks to have a release date of August 28th, 2012.
If the new Meek Mill "Dreamchasers 2" and his previous MMG work is any indication of what's to come on his new EP, it should be one hip hop fans won't want to miss. He'll also be piggybacking off the new Rick Ross album which may arrive just one month ahead of his. The new Meek mixtape can be downloaded for free at various websites including Datpiff.com.
