May 7, 2012. Augusta, Maine. When Maine Republicans held their caucus in February, allegations of fraud were leveled at the state GOP. Canceling the stateâ€™s elections without allowing many voters cast a ballot, Republican officials quickly declared party-favorite Mitt Romney the winner. Ahead by only 194 votes, the former Governor was handed the victory before voters in Ron Paulâ€™s strongholds could even cast a ballot. After this weekendâ€™s state convention, Ron Paul has won the state anyway. Itâ€™s not the first state to shift into the Paul column, and it certainly wonâ€™t be the last. Big money interests seem to want Romney over Paul pretty badly. Their cheating is becoming blatant. They don't seem to even to try to hide it. So big money isn't just in charge of the top Republican officials, it seems to be using its ownership of the major media as well.

If he isn't dealt with fairly, he'll shatter them. They should have the grace to understand that he represents an extraordinary opportunity, and act accordingly. That magnificent horse can carry them to the White House, and lead the country to reason.

They don't control events. He does. They should just ride the wave.

I agree. Even when they started with 15 candidates, Paul was the only one that had a chance to beat Obama. I'm convinced the GOP leadership would rather keep fleecing the American people under a Dem than fix America under one of their own. Too bad. But then, that's why I left the party 15 years ago and became an independent. It's nothing new.
