You may have heard about it, but it was a Romney camp lie. Proof is in the photos and video at PoliticusUSA.
The Romney people claimed the arena was "half-empty" by running a photo taken as people were still coming in and being seated. I was there and since I had a volunteer pass, I got in a little sooner than folks who showed up on the day.
While the Schott wasn't packed to the rafters, over 14,000 people showed up to a venue that holds approximately 18,000 for this sort of event. (You can check those numbers on the booking site for the Schottenstein Center. Check "End Stage Seating.")
As much as I hate doing math, I know 14,000 is more than half of 18,000. It's like 7/9ths of 18,000.
If the Romney campaign feels compelled to lie about a rally, what else are they lying about? Everything but their names?
