I have found a sex offender registry which is easy to use. I was shocked with the number of people in my town with a history of being sex offenders.
It is important that you know who your next door neighbor is, but also, who are you shopping with at the grocery store, or whose house does your child play near.
Please stop and check out this link. Type in your zip code, and then, you'll know who your local sex offenders are. It also gives their address and what their offense is. It is scary to know, but it deadly not to know.

I so caution to not be too hasty in judgement however.
There is a wide range of people that end up on that register.
Most are incredibly despicable people.
A few are no more dangerous than your pet.
For example, a young man of 21, dating a 17 year old, and he is convicted of Statutory Rape, even though they are later married, and she was only 1 month from her 18th birthday. But her father hated him.
Many others have met people in bars, drinking, and it is normal to presume an age of 21 to drink. But due to fake ID’s, some will enter and get drunk (even if only 15), then if caught scream rape.
Things are never quite exactly as they seem.
Others on that list, have savagely brutalized children by the dozen as young as infants, but only were convicted of a single count of “Sexual Imposition”
Like most things our Government does, it quickly goes from a great idea, to a SNAFU that is barely even relevant to the original purpose.
