Another California Mega Millions Winner?
A little down on her luck, Rocio Matio is happy she doesn't have to take out a loan to pay off her bills now. Matio was on her way to the bank to borrow some money, but doesn't need that money any longer. Matio just picked up a check for $192,007 from the California Lottery for matching five out of six Mega Millions winning numbers, but not the Mega Ball number for the May 1st drawing.
According to the California Lottery, Matio stopped at the USA #68136 gas station located at 13539 Baseline Avenue in Fontana on her way to the bank and figured she may as well buy a lottery ticket while she was there. That was a smart decision, making Matio one of only two second-tier California Mega Millions winners in Tuesday's drawing.
California Lottery officials say Rocio Matio couldn't stop crying for joy when she realized how much money she had actually won. Normally, a second-tier Mega Millions ticket would be worth $250,000 in all other states, but Mega Millions prizes are pari-mutuel in California, meaning the prize amounts vary depending on ticket sales and number of winners. Even still, Matio is thrilled with her $192,007 Mega Millions prize winnings!

The most recent Mega Millions results for the Tuesday, May 1st drawing, were 24, 27, 31, 45, 52, and the Mega Ball number was 38. There were no Mega Millions jackpot winners for this drawing.
What Time is Friday's Mega Millions Drawing?
The next Mega Millions drawing is May 4, 2012 at 11:00pm ET. Friday's estimated jackpot is for $118,000,000 annuity, or $86,000,000 cash-value before taxes. Mega Millions winning numbers are drawn Tuesday and Friday evenings at WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia. Tickets are sold in 42 states plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The final Mega Millions results are usually available within a few hours of the drawing.
