She had flown in from her office in California to interview potential managers for their new Arizona foreclosure branch. Since I was personally invited for this interview, I knew they wanted to hire me and and I really wanted that job. She asked me questions and how I'd handle certain situations. I answered every question with full confidence. Heck, I'd been in the business for 20 years. Then she told me she'd get back to me and she needed to get to the airport in time to catch her flight. Thank goodness I'd just cleaned my car. Of course, I offered her a lift.
Everything was perfect and we related on the way to the airport. Until she got out to gather her luggage. I can only guess that she left the backdoor open and came to thank me. But, a just rising gold full moon was calling to me and I drove toward it. Thunk. Uh-oh. Both doors were still open. So I stopped the car to close them. Really big Uh-oh. Funny, I never heard from her again.

It is so hard when we don't get our dream job. But maybe it's for the best, after all...
Alice, I'll be keeping an eye out for the rising moon. I really do love it. Looking for ET.
I like the way you use allusion in this.
Thanks for sharing!
