American Idol 2012 -- Who's going to win?...

Okay peeps. I've been on Gather for a long while now. I've been writing for Skyword for the past year and change and this year, I get to write about American Idol!

So, on a purely social level, I'm wondering: who do you think will win the show?

I'm starting to think it may well be Phillip Phillips, just because he's yet to be in the bottom 2 (or 3). I think Skylar Laine got booted last night because Scotty McCreery won last year and there's a little bit of anti-country sentiment driving the vote. Joshua Ledet has an incredible voice, but I don't think he's mainstream enough to win. Hollie Cavanagh is always on the cusp of elimination, the poor thing. And Jessica Sanchez? I really appreciate her voice and her technique, but I can't stand her persona. There's something very fake and immature about her image.

So what do you think? Who's going to win American Idol 2012?

I know I'm in the big-time minority, but I just never got into American Idol.

I was keeping up on it until last night. This year the girls have been the strongest and one by one they are being eliminated. I really feel that people are judging because of the judges comments, not on talent. Skylar was who I was rooting for, but now I've given up and will switch back to watching The Voice.
