Early last year, the Backstreet Boys announced that they would be reuniting and touring with their predecessors New Kids on the Block, starting in summer of 2011. The super-group goes by the acronym NKOTBSB. The only drawback was that Kevin Richardson would not be joining the Backstreet Boys’ reunion.
It was announced in London on a live concert webcast hosted by livebeats.com that Kevin would be back with the Backstreet Boys to record a new album and go on tour later this year. Kevin made a surprise guest appearance at the show in Los Angeles last summer during the first leg of the super-group’s US tour.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Kevin missed the rest of the guys, who he counts as brothers as well as bandmates, and felt now was the right time to return." Kevin left the group in 2006 to pursue other interests.
The other nine members of the super-group are still on a worldwide tour, slated to end in South America in late June.
Also of note, member AJ McLean announced during the live webcast that he and his new wife are expecting their first baby. Congratulations, AJ and Rochelle!
