Kate Middleton has received nothing but praise for a few of the commoner habits she brought with her to royal life. It seems as if the Queen's not only noticed this, but it looks like she's using this to her advantage. Kate's frugal ways spotlight just one of the reasons that the public feel a strong connection to her. One of the things Kate's become known for is that she wears an outfit more than once like the common folk. It looks like the Queen is following in Kate's footsteps.
The Queen stepped out in a hot pink outfit for the second time recently and she too is getting the same type of positive press for her choice of recycling her clothes by wearing them more than once. It appears that Kate Middleton, who lived all of her life as a commoner until marrying Prince William, is leading by example behind the palace walls. According to Mail Online, the Queen showed up at the Mad Hatter's event in a hot pink outfit that she wore when Kate accompanied her to the first event of her Diamond Jubilee.
It appears that the Queen wanted the point made that she was wearing an outfit for the second time because the clothes she donned were anything but subtle in color. The hot pink hat and coat are memorable for their bright and lively color. She also chose to wear an outfit that she wore when with Kate, as she got photographed in excess that day due to her royal escort. The outfit that the Queen sported for the second time is one that would get recognized more than others due to these reasons.
The Queen made the point that she's conscience of the purse. Instead of wearing a less conspicuous outfit, one toned down in color, she picked one that people wouldn't forget to make sure her point's made. While commoners might change-up the accessories or add a scarf to throw-off that their outfit isn't new, the Queen wore everything exactly the same right down to the brooch on her coat and the pearl necklace. If "imitation is the highest form of flattery," Kate just received unspoken praise from her new grandmother-in-law.
