Prince2 training is widely recognised in a broad range of industries, both in the UK and in many other countries, since Prince2 is generally considered to be the standard way of managing projects of all sizes and scopes.
Prince2 originated in the late 1980s. It started as an IT project management system. Even though it originated as an IT project management system, over the years it has spread to other areas outside information technology. People realized that it could be utilized more broadly than what it was originally intended for.
It is the actual standard that is used by the UK Government. Prince2 training is very important because it provides instructions to individuals in a recognised set of rules. Although these protocols are standard and documented, they are very flexible such that they can be personalised to cater for the project in hand.
The main advantage of Prince2 is two-fold. It can be implemented for large and small projects alike.
Sometimes, however, it may be unfeasible to use Prince2 for minor projects, given the high volume of work needed for evaluation processes. Despite this, it still has the flexibility to adapt to any project.
Prince2 underwent certain changes in 2009. Then, it was specifically updated to serve a more modern and advanced business environment. Today, the Prince2 system has been significantly simplified and revised, focusing specifically on areas of the first version that were broadly misinterpreted or misunderstood.
The idea is that it focuses on processes (which sets it apart from other project management methods), giving clarity for the project in terms of who is responsible for what, and when and how different goals need to be met.
Prince2 training delivers multiple benefits. The project management training itself is the first major benefit. Being a project leader will enable you to manage a project more efficiently. With Prince2 training, you will also learn to deal with any problems whenever they occur.
Because it is a well-known methodology, it also has the advantage of providing a 'common language' for talking about the project - vital if other companies or agencies are involved.
Because it is popular, it means that it is documented well. That makes the training relatively easy. prince2 melbourne Like the use of Prince2 itself, Prince2 training is carried out the world over.
Those with some project management experience may find it possible to study without formally enrolling in a course; however, the qualifying exams still need to be entered and passed.
These take the form of a one-hour, multiple-choice test (for the Foundation level) and a 2.5 hour essay-based exam (Practitioner level). The exams are administered by the Association of Project Management (APM).
Any organisation which offers Prince2 has to be accredited by the Association of Project Management. This means that the degree of standardisation in the training quality received is very high. Every trainer is also required to renew his or her accreditation every three years as well as receive yearly checks.
A practitioner who manages to qualify after the Prince2 training has to be re-accredited every five years. This is done by writing a short one hour exam.
