There are 2 legitimate places that I know of that have customer service people working from home.
One is the IRS. They look for disabled persons, though, and work strictly from places like rehabilitative services.
The other is 1800Flowers. I tried working for them and they are legit. (Couldn't make it work, though, because my phone and computer wouldn't cooperate with their computer programs.)
I am checking things out...I just don't want to go back to any retail store, after giving my job 20 years I was teriminated after they made it a big deal for my 20th anniversary on friday I was teriminated this monday. What was said to me at my terimination was so hurtful...I don't know if I ever want to work again...But I need to work ;-(
There are probably some that are legit, but most of them are likely not. You can probably check out just about any company on line these days. If you find a company that claims to have legit jobs google it and see what comes up on it, if it is a scam somebody on line will be happily ready to let the world know about it, especially if they were duped.
thanks Rae I googled and 3 companies came up, one has no openings, 1 has openings, and one has opening for projects - where you do certain things. All ahve no BBB issues...so I may try this.

I tried one of those jobs and it looked legit but they required me to have all this special equipment and unlimited long distance on my phone, which I couldn't get at that point in time. I think anything like that is going to require some investment initially. If you find something that doesn't, let me know. I would love to be able to work from home.
Many are scams and sadly I tried 2 when attending college was lucky received my money back when they were taken to court. My suggestion don't pay anything to a company that asks for money for a booklet or any other fee to start.
There's someone I know is on Gather who does this kind of work. Unfortunately, I can't remember her id on here. It's Nan or Nanette or something. I'll try to find her.
