(CNN) - Rudy Giuliani will appear at an event with Mitt Romney on Tuesday to mark the anniversary of the assault on Osama bin Laden, a campaign aide confirmed to CNN. The death of the former al Qaeda leader is currently a political talking point between the campaigns of the former Massachusetts governor and President Barack Obama, with both sides attempting to capitalize on the one-year anniversary.
Huh? Giuliani and Romney joining hands to make a campaign event out of the one year anniversary of Obama's kill order which resulted in the death of Bin Laden? Obama, who Romney is running against? You have got to be a masochist to do something that politically dumb.
They tell you in law school, if every question you ask the witness puts your client in hotter water, you excuse the witness and move on to the next witness. You don't keep the witness who is killing you in the witness chair.
I suppose this is in line with the Karl Rove doctrine:
-if you can't say anything that will make sense, say something anyway.
-if you are weak on a given topic, accuse your opponent of being weak on that topic
-if all else fails, lie a lot. Accuse your opponent of playing politics, and set up a political "event" to attract enough cameras for you to make the accusation.
I was never a big fan of Giuliani, with all that yammering he did back in the 2000s about Dems being weak on terrorism. For a while, Republicans seemed to think that Giuliani WAS the President, until GWB got some coaching and took us on that glorious Iraq adventure that had nothing to do with 9/11.
But after all those detours, Obama made the tough call and terminated Osama. Bet it bothers you a bunch, Rudi. But I imagine you will come up with a way to give Romney all the credit for what Obama did. Spin, baby, spin!

Haven't they been criticizing Obama for doing this?
While whining that Obama is politicizing his decision to go after bin Laden (after no one else seemed to be able to do it), here we have Romney going right ahead to try to bask in some of that glory himself. And hiring Rudy "I was there at 9/11" Giuliani to be his escort.
Gotta love the hypocrisy.
