The NBA playoffs begin this weekend and one of the most attractive first round series is the NY Knicks facing the Miami Heat in a series that has plenty of star power.
Miami swept the regular season series 3-0 and their average win was by over 10 points, but the Knicks are playing their best basketball of the year and an upset is possible.
Jeremy Lin was big news this season, but the point guard will miss this series with an injury. The NY Knicks are led by All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony who averaged nearly 30 points per game this last month. The return of big man Amare Stoudemire should also benefit New York as they face the "Big Three" of Miami.
The Heat are led by LeBron James, but Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh are also All-Star players. Miami won just six of their last ten, but the Heat rested their stars over the last couple of weeks and will come into this weekend's series the fresher of the two teams.
New York has won 17 of their 23 NBA games under new head coach Mike Woodson and have done so with some good defense, but the team has struggled on the road this year and Miami has lost just five games at home. With the home-court advantage, look for Miami to win this series, but this could come down to a game seven if the Knicks continue their strong play.
