The American Idol 2012 top 6 show, which aired April 25 on FOX, featured the remaining finalists as they crooned two songs each: one by Queen, and another personal pick. After nailing a rendition of a Queen tune, Skylar Laine gave modern country a whirl a recent hit by Jason Aldean.

But before Skylar faced the audience to sing her second tune of the evening, her fellow finalists shared their impressions of the sassy singer. Elise Testone called her "full of fire". Several hopefuls remarked on her impressive energy on stage, which is so intense that Hollie Cavanagh thought she was going to "surf the crowd" during her last two performances. Joshua Ledet called her thick-skinned and very tough. Hollie agreed with Joshua, but goofed up the expression by calling Skylar "thick boned"; in response, Skylar feigned horror that her friend had called her fat.
Looking totally country in brown boots and a short fringed neutral dress, she strummed her guitar as she sang "Tattoos on this Town". The music was so understated that it almost sounded a capella. It wasn't her best performance of the competition, but it showcased her sometimes growly and always powerful voice well. She's a country singer, after all, and it's a very country song.
Randy Jackson loved "the big note at the end" and called himself a "ginormous fan". He loved on her range and called her fearless. Jennifer Lopez praised how "comfortable" she is up there on stage and told her she "slayed it". Steven Tyler missed her usual "flair" and called himself a fan, but told her to find songs that will take her voice "to that place".
Post-critique, show host Ryan Seacrest asked about the tattoo on the inside of her wrist. Skylar showed off her body art, and explained that the little feather represented the notion that "my problems are as light as a feather because God holds them for me." She dedicated the song to her friends back home in Mississippi.
Skylar Laine was certainly a judges' favorite during the top 6 performance show --in fact, when pressed, Steven said he was most impressed with her offerings this week-- but did she impress America? Watch the American Idol 2012 top 6 results show Thursday evening to see how it all pans out.

I suppose Adam has been chosen by Queen to be their frontman for a few summer concerts for a very good reason. Adam is the only artist today who can pay tribute to Freddie. You have to have the over the top performance. Did anyone ever see Freddie stand in front of a mic and just sing. Of course not.
