Whiteout Press has an article with the details on Gather.
Will the GOP attack Ron Paul's delegates at the 2012 RNC like they did in 2008? They (the 'black hats') rounded them up, took their literature, pamphlets, campaign buttons, books, signs - anything with Dr. Paul's name on it! They monitored their every move, even having a 'black hat' on the bus taking the delegates to the convention.
They were escorted to their seats and told if they left, for any reason, they would not be permitted to be reseated!
They were intimidated and badgered by McCain delegates, most of whom were already elected politicians who are allowed to become delegates too! If you remember, during McCain's speech at the convention, he was continually interrupted with LOUD voices shouting, "USA - USA". That happened because they were drowning out the Ron Paul delegates who tried to interject during his speech as well.Â
The delegates pledged to the presidential hopefuls, who have dropped out, will be free to vote for the candidate of their choice! Remember Santorum was aligning with Ron Paul supporters to gather delegates in the same manner. We believe this year's delegates will be larger in numbers, and much wiser to the tyranny of the good old GOP!

Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) appears to be piling up enough delegates to force a brokered convention.
Romney Nomination in doubt – Brokered Convention likely
April 24, 2012. Des Moines.
Two networks yesterday, CNBC and MSNBC, broadcast a little known fact – Ron Paul appears to be winning the Republican nomination for President. When the popular Texas Congressman repeatedly assured supporters that the race was about delegates, not beauty contests, he apparently knew what he was talking about. Now, after three more states locked in delegates to the GOP nominating convention – CO, MN and IA – indicators point to a brokered convention with a possible, even probable, Ron Paul victory.

It was the strategy from the beginning.
Am I correct on the drop-out's delegates? they will be free to vote their conscience?
This whole system is bogus - from beginning to end because, IN THE END, the GOP will control the outcome, come hell or high water!
That I don't know.
how would any drop-out be able to control their delegates?
Because the rule says they have to vote a certain way.

Sadly true... if needed, I think they would pull some really dirty or illegal tricks to block Paul if he actually threatened to win this way. Only a massive public support- which the media and politicians could not deny- would actually put him in office. Obviously, we don't have that.
if no one is nominated the FIRST round, all delegates are free to vote as they wish!
Yes.

did you think just a little that the people representing Paul who claimed to support other candidates that the people voted for was all fine and dandy, just the honorable action you would support????? Thisnsounds like the kind of false election I would expect from Chavez or some other fascist dictator. Wow, think about it! The people's votes count little enough, nd you support subverting them? Shame on you all! And you wonder why he can't get more than a few percentage support. When they say fanatics, I am starting to think they are right when I hear the dirty tricks you guys encourage. Take heart? No, read 'em and weep. What a hypocrite.
The caucuses are just straw pols, always have been, the selection of delegates isn't connected to the straw vote.
you are yelling about the rules the Party uses to sway things their own way?
No, I complain when they engage in fraud. Like happened in Missouri and Georgia. Probably Maine too. And wherever else.
I predict there would be fraud at the Tampa convention if Paul was a threat to win (he isn't).
So I don't see the hypocrisy, maybe there was a misunderstanding?
When there was a delegate opening, and they dismiss all Ron Paul supporters, do you then blame those who only did what GOP allowed them to do?
Again, Char, these were caucuses - a straw pole if you will which are COMPLETELY CONTROLLED BY THE GOP! A 'popularity' contest, if you will. NOT AN 'ELECTION'. Thus they also control THEIR choice for delegates at a state convention.
Here in PA we vote for delegates, completely different than caucuses.
...you forgot about the Executive Orders which actually bypass Congress...
Dr. Paul's positions are just fine and will allow us to DEFEND our own country, not play dictator to multiple countries!
I can't remember the details, but I think there was one POTUS who said he would not go to war even if Congress declared one. I don't think Congress has that power, except for impeachment, perhaps?
Anyway, such a thing is extremely unlikely to ever be a problem.
Char, Paul used his grassroots support to maximum advantage, within the rules as all candidates should have taken upon themselves to understand. Romney hasn't been shy to use his financial advantage in the air game. Paul grinds it out on the ground, and he's up against GOP establishment, as if Romney and the fallen 9 weren't enough. The Tortoise is closing the gap. Big gap. Small hope. But hope I do.
