I made these a few weeks ago and am finally getting around to posting the recipe. The original recipe is from my "Joy of Greek Cooking" cookbook.
Delicious!
1 egg, well beaten
1 T water
1 T olive oil, plus extra for frying
1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup plain bread crumbs
1/2 onion, minced
2 T fresh parsley, minced
1 t dried mint
1 t salt
1/4 t oregano, rubbed
1/8 t cumin
1/8 t black pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
1 small can tomato sauce
In a large bowl, stir together egg, water and olive oil. Set aside.
In a separate large bowl, mix beef, bread crumbs, onion, spices and garlic. Stir in egg mixture. Form into small balls.
Heat a little oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add meatballs and fry til crisp and brown on all sides, about 10-15 minutes.
Pour in tomato sauce. Simmer a few minutes to blend flavors; stir carefully.
I served the meatballs and sauce over orzo alongside yogurt cucumber sauce.

And I am surprised the whole family isn't dangerously overweight!
Nope, I walk a lot :^)
Your dinner sounds good, Larry. Pass the hot sauce!
