The WWE Extreme Rules 2012 Pay-Per-View is right around the corner, meaning wresting fans are weighing in with predictions, and possible spoilers. One of the main fights on the card will feature John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar in an Extreme Rules match.
Which of these two superstars will win when they face off under such extreme conditions? Right now the smart money is on Brock Lesnar. He recently returned to WWE after his lengthy time away to work as a mixed martial arts star with UFC. Lesnar came back to WWE right after John Cena had been defeated by The Rock at Wrestlemania 28. Since then, he's shown no mercy, and little respect to Cena.
Cena is having some bad luck in terms of his win-loss record, too. He lost at Mania to Rock, then just a week ago on Raw to newcomer Lord Tensai. The latter of the two matches was due to interference and cheating (see YouTube video below), but a loss is a loss. With that in mind, another loss seems likely for Cena at Extreme Rules 2012 when he faces the destructive force known as Brock Lesnar.
A Bleacher Report article sums up the point to having Cena lose again well. Basically, the idea is that there is a majority of fans, mostly children, who enjoy rooting for Cena. There are those fans who can't stand the "invincible Cena" act, and want to see him beaten in the ring, and badly. This takes away the superhero like quality that Cena seemed to have for so long, and transforms him into just a top level wrestler like everyone else.
There's also the idea of the "underdog story," and it seems Cena is on that path now. Of course, he may lose a match or two to Brock Lesnar as he travels down the road. The first will come at Extreme Rules, unless some other wrestler gets involved. It's not likely, with the exception of a major spoiler, such as The Rock showing up to finally shake Cena's hand after their Mania match. Don't count on it though.

Honestly I am bored with John being a manager and surprised WWE has re-used the same angle they used to remove Triple H from his management role having the roster revolt against him and refuse to work. Maybe in the future.
I would really like to hear from Taker and Triple H.. Are they actually ring retired now or will we see another Taker Wrestlemania again next year?
