The Vampire Diaries season 3 has brought Esther back as it's winding down. Though she showed up and told Rebekah she was dying, she had one last trick up her sleeve, and that was possessing her daughter. What's coming up now for the Original Witch?
Vampire Diaries Season 3 Spoilers
According to Zap2it, "Esther is seriously back with a vengeance [and] in the next few episodes, we'll once again be reminded that while vampires may be threatening, witches are ultimately far more powerful than any other creatures." Uh-oh, what could Esther be up to? As the previews for The Vampire Diaries season 3 episode, 20, "Do Not Go Gentle," show, she and Alaric are up to something. She tells him that she has big plans for the night, and it looks like that's going to be what everyone's facing the night of the dance.
Esther hasn't just forgotten about her plan to kill her children, and now that she has the white oak stake, there's trouble in Mystic Falls. While the Originals are no longer linked, Damon wasn't able to find out which bloodline they trace back to, and it's not like that's something Esther cares about. She wants to kill all her children, which would lead to Damon, Stefan, Caroline, and Tyler dying no matter what. Then there's the fact that Alaric's hanging out with Esther, and it's not like he can exactly be trusted at the moment with his evil psycho dark side.
Will Esther still be around in the season 3 finale? Since a photo has been released showing Damon and Rebekah seemingly scared as they look at something off-screen, it seems likely she's not (or perhaps possessing someone else). But what will she do before the finale? Who will suffer the consequences of her actions?
