Hollywood is a dangerous place and, too often, their ideals of perfection can cause young starlets to get swept up in a fast lifestyle. A lot of those who succumb to the temptations of Hollywood have a hard time getting their lives back on track, but others, like Demi Lovato, try their hardest to prove that they are good role models.
Of course, fans know that Demi has had a rough life, suffering through bullying which ultimately caused her to turn to self-harm and eating disorders just to find some solace. However, she recently opened up about her drug use and, though she didn't go into too much detail, is trying to show young girls how dangerous Hollywood can truly be.
Hollywood Life recently conducted a poll, asking fans if Demi opening up about her past helps her to set a good example. For the most part, fans do feel that she is setting a good example, with over 80% thinking that she does.
The fact that she is open and honest shows that she truly has learned from her mistakes. Too often, people (and not just celebrities!) who get caught up with destructive behavior tend not to open up about it, sometimes because it is too painful. Obviously, someone choosing not to talk about their past doesn't make them a bad person, but it is encouraging when folks try to help others by sharing their stories.
