Six-year-old Isabel Mercedes Celis went missing mysteriously from her Tucson home on Friday night. Her parents claimed to have last seen her at around 11:00 p.m. The story is immediately a horrifying reminder of other high profile missing children cases that involve an alleged abduction from the home as the family slept. Police in Arizona searched for the girl throughout all of Saturday, as well as U.S. Marshalls and FBI agents. It was an immediate turnout which has rocketed this case to headline news.
Just like the case of missing baby Lisa Irwin, the parents of missing child Isabel Mercedes Celis say that she was last seen in her room the prior night. She was missing, nowhere to be found, the following morning. According to police, there aren't any custodial issues as both parents live in the home. Police have examined the home for signs of a break-in, but it hasn't been released as to whether or not any evidence was found.
Much of the east side of Tucson has been searched as of Saturday night and there is still no sign of the missing girl. It's horrifying to imagine that someone walked into the home and snatched the 6-year-old up without even alarming anyone in the house. Hopefully detectives get to the bottom of this tragic case.
