Another Day of Blooming - Shedding Light

Sunny warm days make me come alive. I seem to thaw out and am engulfed with a deep feeling of joy - and when that feeling envelops me, I paint. In my lifetime, I've probably painted 6,000 or more paintings. Yes, the process makes my heart dance and that energy is what I seek. Each painting on board or canvas or paper has been repainted at least 30 times - Oh some do survive for a while - some are given away, traded or sold reluctantly to someone who really loved them. Otherwise, they hang here and there for a while freely until I feel the need to give them new life. Do I ever regret painting over anything? Oh yes, there were probably 20 that I should have left as they were...

Yesterday, the sun beat down and I came alive. Here are a few shots:

One finally landed above my piano! I'll look at her for a while before she becomes another self portrait. Thanks for watching me have fun! Salud

Oh, you are having so much fun with color! So inspiring, Mariana. I left art behind long ago and am feeling urges to start up again. Thanks for showing us your process and wonderful self-portrait.

Stirling - it feeds my soul - I am paid over and over with the process and the keeping in the now - I can look back and remember each curve and color and be happy! Salud

Hi George - My dad's oil working career was to help him get money to go to Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, Iowa where he graduated - his second career and his second family grew together! Thanks for coming by! Salud

My Dad's oil working was so he could buy a farm. He was able to do that in New Mexico -- just before the Great Depression.
