Postal Service Closings by you?

Postal Service closings have been announced. The postal service closings are mostly in small towns and villages across the United States. With email and android phones the need for manned post offices is becoming a thing of the past.

About 3700 post offices will be affected by postal service closings, so is yours on the list?

Here is a link where you can look up the post offices under review for closing.  Some will remain open but unmanned while others will move to stores. This is a sad day for postal workers who thought it would never end.

The USPS shot itself in the face!

They ignored the customer. Issued too many different stamp. Created complex mailing requirements, caved to the union and shafted the "collector"!

That is so true. I remember going to the post office and they would just ignore you.

Well, here in our city, we have already had LOTS of "branch" post offices close......it's just amazing and rather upsetting.........and, there are many more closings to come. I have worked for the Postal Service, in various capacities throughout the years (as a matter of fact, my very favorite computer job was coding mail for the PO........it was more of a "game" to me).............and see all the closings as very, very sad. Tons upon tons of people out of jobs......with really, no place to go......
I still do mail out stuff at the post office.....especially making "deposits" to my various bank accounts (online and out of town/state).

Actually, I lost my great computer job with the P.O. about 10 years ago........I worked at one of the Remote Encoding Centers (REC)..........the jobs were supposed to last for 10 years; they actually lasted 6........we all were so upset, as it was a great job, with super pay (I made around $12/hr. for part-time work!).........I remember when it ended........everybody was just bawling.........after that, I never did find another job that paid nearly as well, so I became a full-time "stay at home" mom!

NOpe....they already closed 2 little branches by us, so now my local USPS is very crowded...to the point they added more workers.

It is sad that real people will lose what used to be a secure job.

I amil out on a monthly basis, to my son or house payment.. I know for a fact our will not be closed to to our strong supporters around us,, I live an "old type of town where 85% or more are over the age of 75 and can not get out or have computers to do their payment or mailings. In fact I have a lady who lives next door to me and she spend her $$ on a card a month to me for all I do for her.
