Madonna admits she is tough on her kids, but she thinks she should be even more strict. The things she demands of her children, however, don't mesh with her own behavior. How can she expect her kids to follow her rules if she doesn't set a good example?
According to the singer, she is a very different person at home than she is in the spotlight. Her kids see the side of her "that comes home and says, 'Have you done your homework?' and 'Why are you wearing that?' and 'Why did you say that?' and 'What are you eating that for?'" No matter how the superstar dresses and acts at home, she can't shield her children from seeing her outrageous clothes and antics.
In a recent video, Madonna smoked, giving the habit a touch of glamour despite her insistence "cigarette smoking I'm not very fond of." Now, she has discovered that her 15-year-old daughter, Lourdes, smokes. Although one may have little relevance to the other, it does have the mark of hypocrisy. The singer may need to tighten the reins on her children to raise them properly, but she should also walk the talk.
