While millions of Americans no doubt scrambled to complete their taxes in anticipation of Tax Day, Ryan Sutter had a different sort of grueling task to complete: the Boston Marathon.
Sutter, who competed on the first season of The Bachelorette and won Trista Sutter's heart in the process, said that whenever he needed motivation, he'd think of fellow reality TV star and Survivor winner Ethan Zohn, who was unable to compete due to a Hodgkin's Lymphoma recurrence.
"My inspiration was Ethan, but no matter what I did physically it's nothing compared to what he and other people with cancer do every day. That kept me going," said Sutter.
The 37-year-old may have called the race "painful," but he still managed to obtain a time worth being proud of. Sutter began in the last wave of racers, finishing with a time of 3:36:02!
Though it's surely too soon to say for sure, it doesn't seem impossible to think that Ryan Sutter will be amongst the celebrity faces of the Boston marathon in 2013! Congrats!
