The only winning move is not to play.
Remember this one? That's the best line of this old classic. One of my all time favorites. I took a few hours and watched it today. The main characters are a very young Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy. There's other very familiar characters but I can't think of their names.
The movie is an early 80's movie about a high school computer hacker. He starts a global thermonuclear war by accidentally hacking into a military computer system - WOPR.
They call WOPR by his name - Joshua. The name was given to him by his creator Stephen Falken, named after his son who was killed in a car accident. Joshua the computer is different from other computers because he learns from his mistakes.
The attacks turn out to be simulated by Joshua but the movie evolves around the fact that everyone at NORAD believes they are real.
I love watching this movie because the giant floppy disks are hilarious along with Joshua's simulated computer voice. If you're looking for a fun blast from the past movie, Wargames is one to check out!
