The 2012 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, is in full-swing party mode, and the stars are enjoying the music, people, and atmosphere along with everyone else. This year the festival will run over two weekends for the first time, and because of some very strange weather, a little online war has started! The desert setting has been unusually cold and windy, which has led to taunts from next weekends ticket holders about how lucky they are to have missed the odd weather. But, really... it's all good, time to relax, party, and enjoy the music!
P.S I Love You star Gerard Butler (yummy!) was seen checking out The Black Keys performance and then hung out at the after-party. Butler recently did a stint at the Betty Ford Clinic and seemed to resist the overwhelming temptation of booze and drugs... but not women! He was grinding with one girl, hugging others, and chatting with several! Always the ladies man. Aquamarine star Emma Roberts tweeted about the nutty weather, "I hope this rain stops! I wanna wear dresses and shorts!" More about the crazy weather, actor Colin Hanks tweeted, "New fashion trend at @coachella this year: winter clothes." Life Happens actress Kate Bosworth was spotted with boyfriend Michael Polish.
Festival goers were excited about the reunion concerts of bands like Mazzy Star and Refused. One actor who was very excited to be there was Breaking Bad Emmy winner Aaron Paul. He was walking around and high-fiving fans he passed and yelling, "Hello Coachella. I've missed you!" Hilarious! It's great that the stars can hang out with "ordinary" people and be themselves. Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg are going to be playing the closing sets Sunday night and expected to draw huge crowds. The late 2Pac and Nate Dogg are rumored to make "hologram appearances." Yikes! Pretty weird!
Some other stars attending were Lindsay Lohan, Katy Perry, Paris Hilton (to watch boyfriend DJ Afrojack perform), David Hasselhoff (no, really!), Vanessa Hudgens, and Jared Leto. Sunday night will probably bring out a ton of the Hollywood crowd for the best shows. Can't wait until next week to see who'll be there!
