One Direction has gotten a bit of a verbal beat down from The Wanted in the past—Max George and his band mates have dissed 1D on multiple occasions, mainly bashing their competition for just being a bunch of pretty faces who only appeal to teens. So since it seems like they aren't the biggest fans of Harry Styles and the gang, that's why 1D was terrified of running into them at a recording studio.
According to TMZ, it all went down when 1D was rehearsing for their SNL appearance at a studio in Burbank earlier this month. The guys were probably having a good time getting ready for their big moment on American TV when their excitement was cut short—One Direction learned that The Wanted was on their way to the studio to rehearse for their American Idol performance.
So did Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, and Niall Horan pull out their brass knuckles to get ready for an epic boy band battle? Nope. They tried to get out of the studio ASAP to avoid a violent confrontation.
The members of 1D were fearful of The Wanted because they have a reputation for being pretty tough, and they worried about Max George and his mates manhandling them. Some might call One Direction chicken for reacting in such a way, but Directioners will probably just love them more for showing that they're just fun-loving guys who aren't fans of violence.
Unfortunately both British boy bands couldn't avoid a confrontation; The Wanted showed up before 1D could leave. The security teams for both groups talked, and Max George and his band mates were made aware of 1D's fears. Max reacted by bolting into the studio where 1D was, but he didn't attempt to start a fight—instead he laughed and gave Liam Payne a hug. Apparently all the guys then had a good giggle about the situation, except Louis Tomlinson.
Perhaps Louis' feelings were still too hurt by something that Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, or Nathan Sykes has said about 1D in the past, or maybe he still didn't trust the guys. Now 1D might be a bit embarrassed by the whole ordeal, and they're probably praying that their rivals don't go around making fun of the way they reacted to the situation.
A lot of girls would probably love to see video footage of that meeting, and who knows? Maybe both bands will team up to record a song and music video in the future now that they've met face-to-face. They really have no reason to be jealous rivals since they've both been doing so well recently, and maybe The Wanted will quit bashing 1D since they've been getting just as much love in the States with opportunities to perform on American Idol and The Voice.
So would you like to see the groups collaborate in the future?
