When Dancing with the Stars 2012 continues April 16, the nine remaining celebrity/professional couples will take part in Latin Week. While some pairs will finesse their way through the fiery Argentine Tango and others will step and wiggle through the Salsa, actor Jaleel White and Kym Johnson will take the ballroom Samba style.
White, best known for his role as supernerd Steve Urkel on Family Matters, has turned in a series of decidedly uneven performances on DWTS. Although he and Johnson had a share of the top spot on the judges' leaderboard following a stellar week one Foxtrot, they've since failed to repeat the greatness and enter week 5 with a collective score that places them in the middle of the pack.
White and Johnson must turn in a solid Samba if they hope to compete with frontrunners including opera singer Katherine Jenkins and NFL star Donald Driver in the long run. But can they? Perhaps, but it seems doubtful. White earned sub par marks for the only other fast-faced dance he's performed this season, the Jive, and a recent tweet to followers suggests that he's not exactly delighted with the Samba: "Dancing with <s>@</s>kym_johnson today feels like an aerobics class that will not end uuugggghhhh." Are those the words of a man dedicated to the dancing craft? Only Jaleel and Kym know for sure, but they don't connote the best attitude.
To see how Jaleel White fares with the Samba after all, tune in to Dancing with the Stars 2012 week 5 on Monday at 8 PM.
