Friday the 13th! Good luck!

Today is Friday the 13th, and I wanted to wish you good luck! Are you superstitous about Friday the 13th?

I am not. I have always liked the number 13 as it is the day I was born. Some people won't fly on this day, or pass a funeral procession, but I have one superstition that I believe in, and only one.

I was raised Italian Catholic, and I was actually taught to believe in superstition and witchcraft. The evil eye is a favorite of Italians, and as a small child I was given the Italian horn in 14k gold to carry on my to ward away evil spirits.

I fought all my life to not believe in superstition or stupidstitions as I call them, but there is one that I can't shake. If you give a pointed object to a friend or loved one it will break the bond between you. I have seen its results, so my family allows me this one superstition.

However Friday the 13th is not one I fear. Tell the truth: do you have any superstitions?

Of course, I don't worry about Friday the 13th. I just cross my fingers and hope the rabbit ear works.

Not really superstitious here.....today is just another Friday, although this morning I found out I need to file for a tax extension rather than being able to file taxes now!

What I've read is that this whole "Friday the Thirteenth" superstition has its roots in an actual historic event. On Friday,October 13th,1307 Philip IV of France (with the complicity of Pope Clement V) arrested the whole senior leadership of the Knights Templar in a bid for their vast riches;The result of this sweeping move effectively wiped out the Sect. That is why since then,this day and date have been considered unlucky.

Today is my birthday, so I'm not afraid of it being Friday the 13th. I've been through a few before. (But I was born on Easter Sunday.)

I don't have any superstitions, don't believe in them. I don't think there is good luck or bad luck. Because not everyone's life is perfect
