Animals

The paws

lug him towards

asleep me, in myself.

The paws open my corpus.

 

In a dream if you see a lion, you are a dreaming gypsy.

 

He licks those paws clean and coils in.

Now I stroll inside him,

in him I build

a fire.

Ah, an an ekphrastic one, too! I could see The Sleeping Gypsy by Henri Rousseau in this imaginative fantasy. I'm taken by the idea of building a fire inside a lion.

This will appear alongside the other conversants in the Mindful Poetry Contest 2012.
