Word on the street is Sheree Whitfield will not be returning for Season 5 of Real Housewives of Atlanta. This news has not yet been announced by Bravo, but it seems that after the taping of the reunion word has floated around that Sheree would be let go next season. That might come as a real shocker for some, but for others, it could be an expected move. It's a known fact that Bravo likes to "refresh" their cast of housewives from time to time, which brings about new storylines and drama for the viewers to guiltily enjoy.
One speculation is that salary negotiations are what caused the firing. Sheree has been a cast member of the hit reality show since its first season, along with NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak. Reportedly NeNe Leakes makes $750k, so perhaps Sheree was trying to get her $550k salary per season to be increased to match that of her rival's. Some also say that NeNe had a hand in the firing of her nemesis, which sounds unlikely, and NeNe has been quoted responding to that accusation, "I'm powerful, but I'm not that powerful!"
One other clue that leads some to believe that Sheree was fired is the omission of her name on The Real Housewives of Atlanta's Wikipedia page on April 10, 2012. However, today her name is now included in the current housewives. Of course we know that Wikipedia is updated by any and everyone, so that could have just been a hoax of some kind. Or, it could have been a slip-up that was quickly corrected.
Sheree's storyline on 'Real Housewives' was definitely getting a bit boring and contrived since she has tried just about every stunt there is this year to stay relevant to the show's drama-filled existence. She started off with the planning of Chateau Sheree - which has yet to be built. Then she had the courtroom appearances with ex-husband Bob Whitfield, and their dispute over child support. In addition to her home life drama, she had an exaggerated disagreement with both NeNe and Phaedra this season. Another strange move she made was to begin a new BFF alliance with Kim Zolciak, and managed to throw Kandi under the bus because of it. This season it seems that she's tried it all! However, Ms. WhoGoneCheckMeBoo may have been lost in the process - and that's the Sheree that the viewers seemed to know and love.
Although all indications point to yes, the question remains - did Sheree get fired? And, if so - "Boo" may have just gotten checked!
