These pictures were taken when Bob and I was in Key West. We were headed out to do some snorkeling.When we got there the water was pretty rough so I didn't go in but I still had fun.Sorry it took so long to post them.

I know they are hard to see but there is jellyfish swimming all over.

The Keys are the only area of Florida I've ever had any interest in, and we didn't have a chance to drive the several hours to them when we spent that hellish year living in that state.

I've been pretty good, but busy. I was in Flagstaff,Tucson and Phoenix last week. This week I'm in Seattle. I'm not on Gather a lot. In fact, I've cancelled all Gather emails except for yours and four or five other members I've come to regard as friends.

It was a wee bit bouncy that day. I used to work on a cruise boat and I could carry a tray of drinks uptop. But the water wasn't as rough as it was here.

I didn't realize you hadn't done it before - what a bummer! Whenever I go somewhere that offers snorkeling, I spend the whole day at it. Hopefully you'll go again.

I wanted to go in the water so bad but when I saw experienced people having problems I felt it was best to stay on the boat. A lot of them said they were disappointed cause the water was so choppy and full of jellyfish.

I got to snorkel out there years ago. It was so beautiful and we were lucky because it was calm. The kids had a great time. Key West is a fun place to visit. If you haven't already joined, I recommend that you post this and other travel articles to my group, Vicarious Vacations! Members love to share travel photos there.

I'm doing great, I've been budgeting so that I can get the trees I want, finally figured out that at about $27 a tree I can afford at least 1 a month... I just planted an Afgan Pine in front close to one thats already half grown, its only 3' but it'll be 5' by next year. I have finally got my energy back, Yay.

I don't know how many because it takes me 3 days to get a small hole dug, the soil here is that hard riverbottom clay but its all dried out, I get a small area scooped out, fill with water then scrape the soil to the edges. If there are no winds it only takes 3 days to get a hole large enough for a 1 gallon planter with a 3' afgan planted. I'm working on it though.

That is neat. Trees are so wonderful. I read a book about trees and the healing affects they have on people. I can't remember the title of the book :(

I don't know either, I have read on many sites that trees will provide oxygen and help rid us of the pollution WE create. I do know 1st hand that the shade they give me is worth every bit of effort I put into growing them, its not all that easy here, some trees like the hazelnut I tried to grow make it here, its just too hot for them. I've learned to stick with those trees that are drought and heat resistant. Elms, Chinaberry and Mulberry trees seem pretty hardy, I got lucky that I got a fruit bearing Mulberry...yumm.

Looks like a gorgeous Florida day. Key West is one of the only areas of FL I haven't been to. I've been to other Key's - Siesta Key, Longboat Key, but never Key West. Maybe one day.
