No one likes to get sent home on The Voice. Last night, Erin Martin was one of three contestants in the bottom group for Team Cee Lo. Her final song wasn't enough to save her and she, along with Tony Vincent, was sent home.
Recently, Erin Martin spoke out about the elimination and, she feels, that Cee Lo is partly to blame. She spoke out and blames the fact that she had virtually "no control" over what or how she performed.
Erin told In Touch, "I thought that after I auditioned with 'Hey There Delilah' — which was very true to myself — that's the direction my coach would take me, but instead he's taken me to this Vegas showgirl thing. They want me to belt and I'm not a belter."
If you missed it, Erin performed "Walk Like An Egyptian" and the performance was theatrical (see video below). However, some forget that her coach, Cee Lo Green, is more than just a singer, he is a true artist. The majority of his performances focus a lot on the showmanship aspect, much as Erin's choreographed performance did.
When more than one judge turns their chair around during a contestants audition, the contestant is then able to choose which artist they would like to work with. In Erin's case, she was able to choose between Cee Lo and Blake Shelton. Do you think she would have faced the same outcome had she picked to be on "Team Blake"?
Do you think Erin Martin is bitter at The Voice? Were you a fan of her vocals? Watch the video below and sound off in the comments!
