I was threatened today!

I was threatened today, and I took this threat very seriously. I picked up my grand daughter from school. She and her parents are planning a tip to Disney. She is going to fly on an airplane.

I was invited to go but she threatened me, while her mom was out of the car, that if I didn't buy her a toy, she would not let me go.

When her mom returned to the car, I asked my grand daughter to tell her mommy what she told me, but suddenly, she couldn't remember, so I reminded her!

Don't worry, she has apologized and I told her I would forgive her "this time."

Tessa, They are teaching this stuff in schools. I do agree, the " do this or I'll do that" style of upbringing doesn't work in general. The old I'll tell your Father....

when my son was a teenager, I used to yell at his friends, "Did your mother teach you that?" or "Did you grow up in a barn?"

Kids are always pushing the boundaries to see what they can get away with. As long as you confront them -- AND DON'T SHOW ANY FEAR -- they'll learn from the experience.

You know I remember my kids saying stuff like that, too. I guess that is it, you just don't show any fear, because I was never afraid, it just made me more determined!

oh wow....I can't imagine my kids doing this to my mother, I have no grandchildren, but I have heard the threatening stories from many grandmothers
