I just don't know what happened, and really no one does.

It wasn't the hoodie (although our own government did put out videos saying that people in hoodies were to be watched as potential terrorists) it was his behavior. And given what we now know about him, it's highly likely that he was out to do no good. He attacked Zimmerman.

I'd love to know why neither of his parents knew he was missing for 48 hours that he was listed as a John Doe. Must be they didn't care, huh? Oh, but they do now, of course. They want Zimmerman arrested, but their attorney says they don't care if he's convicted. You know why? Because he has to be arrested for them to be able to file a civil suit for money. Seems that's all they're interested in.

At the office the other day, I went to the vending machine to get a snack which I almost never do. I wanted the rice chex mix which was F6. If there's one candy in the whole world I hate, it's Skittles which was E6. I forgot my glasses in my office and chose the wrong one. I was so infuriated I said, "Oh, damn! That's not what I wanted. I HATE these things." Someone said, "Better be careful with that hooded sweater you're wearing." I rolled my eyes, threw the Skittles on the counter, gave her a dirty look and walked away.

seems nbc had a different (highly edited) version of the first one - cnn had a different call that they have now admitted was reported as the wrong wording.

there is still debate as to who was yelling for help on the witness 911 call.

we do not know anything at all for certain - and we may never know.

Ms. Marilyn, I find it so sad that you cannot bring yourself to understand that most parents (besides you it would seem) would be shocked to know that their child had been gunned down. He was unarmed and in a housing area visiting with his father would seem to the average person that the kid had been there before. I understand your thinking though. You think that any child that is somewhere that you do not think he should be is out of place and should be shot and killed. In your world you think that everyone who does not think like you is a danger to you. You cannot understand how anyone walking with a hoodie on could be killed by accident or murdered. If they are out past dark and do not have papers to hell with their life and also their parents. You cannot understand or know a mothers love for her child. Matters not that she may not have known where he was. She knew he was with his father.
I wonder what you would say if that was your child? Would you have believed he or she was wrong, even if they were? Would you want more than a 3 or 6 hour investigation? Or would you feel like you do now, that the Martin family is doing this for money? I think not. To you it is funny because it did not happen to you or any of your friends.
There was an unarmed teen shot and killed. The shooter says it was self-defense. No matter the outcome neither family will be the same and Travon will remain DEAD. There is over reaction from both sides, but no one seems to think this is funny except you. If this had been Glenn Becks child you would be asking for Obama’s impeachment, saying he had to be involved in it. I pray for both families and I also pray for you. You are evil and you do not know it.

The 911 tape waws altered, so we really don't know.

Within the next "72 hours" the AG would be speaking and provide details on what is going on.

In the meantime Rightists and Leftists should calm down! When the details will be provided it will be then time to talk.

i too have been attacked for being on neither side - insisting that i do not know who is guilty, and no one else does either. but i was attacked by left wingers.

you are completely correct - all need to stay calm. the law will do what the law does.

Or, at the least, will justify its own position. Then we should be screaming again (LOL)

I didn't see anything about the PTSD, but from what I read, the attorneys said they didn't know about his website where he was raising money for his defense and it seems that Zimmermann didn't consult with them before speaking to Sean Hannity so they felt as though he wasn't being as communicative as he had been, and he shouldn't have talked to anyone before he consulted with his attorneys, and they probably would have told him not to say anything or at least have been present.

I should have added that they didn't withdraw because they don't believe his story and they also made that clear.

but he was not there as much to raise money - as he was to state that there are two different groups raising money, and he does not know who they are, has not gotten money from them, and is not affiliated with them.

the website was not at all what i expected it to be - and i give him props for it - it offered not one single reference to the case itself, only that justice would prevail. he did not deny anything, he did not confirm anything.

but ANYthing like that, and the lawyers of course would be in a tizzy.

del, it wasn't the point the attorneys seemed to make whether or not he was a part of the websites, but that they didn't know about them and he did and that he had stopped over the weekend being forthcoming with them. The attorneys apparently made attempts to reach him and he didn't respond. That they weren't apprised of the Hannity interview might have been the clincher. I don't know. Once again, they didn't say they withdrew because they thought his story was not credible.

With my ever prognosticating creative mind, I suppose that he called the prosecutor, and she said I can't talk to you, have your attorney call, and he said, "I never officially hired them, they don't represent me.". So, regardless of what was said between them, the lawyers obviously withdrew! Wouldn't you?

Darkness is good if you need sleep; without rain we would dry up and be dead; hoodies have absolutely nothing to do with health, and skittles may be colorful additions to artwork. So, your "so is George Zimmerman" has no basis in truth, not even your relative truth.

All together they have been known to cause death ... violently.

I can not help but wonder how this country will react to a future newspaper headline that may read:

Or Zimmerman guilty. It's a mess.

Today, our local news says there will be an announcement on this case by Friday. They also reported here, other cities were put on notice of the coming info, and they have opened the EOC here. (Emergency Operations Center). They also put up barricades at the police station. Fresh off the press. New notice that George Zimmerman is to be arrested, (news from Washington).

This is no surprise now, Char. Nothing has changed except that he has now violated stipulations from the police that he must remain accessible. I'm not saying that you don't know this yourself, but when people read what you've put not only here, but on at least one other post that I've seen, they conjure all kinds of reasons why he's going to be arrested when apprehended.

I am sure he was still accessible, as you put it. The attorneys said he wasn't in the state, so that may have caused him trouble. Or they could maybe track his phone, but since the latest news was from the Washington Post, I wonder if it will be federal charges? I don't think he can be charged with evading arrest until there is an actual warrant, can he? We never know what has been done behind the scenes, of course. Maybe they have a warrant, and he refused to respond to his attorneys, but if they tell his Dad, and he doesn't come in, he would probably be iffy in this regard. Who knows, I so think it could be the federal government charging him, and so he is going to get a federal attorney.

What do you mean he's still accessible? I mean that he had to remain accessible to the police. How does one remain accessible if they can't find him and have to set up barricades to force accessibility?

This has nothing to do with his lack of response to his attorneys or advisors because as far as I can tell, they were not formally retained as yet, though the fact that he hadn't responded to them probably alerted authorities that they needed to look into his whereabouts. The only reason there is a federal warrant is because in case he fled the state, other states will have the right to apprehend him based on his violation of accessibility to local authorities.

The attorneys indicated he spoke to the prosecutors office himself. I don't think that would be considered unaccessible. I think perhaps violation of Trayvon's civil rights could be the charge that is coming. As I said in my post, it could be possible, because of the way the law is written that immunity for his death may have conveyed. They do have the right to ignore that, declare him the aggressor based on new evidence and charge him with anything. Neither would surprise me. We will see, later today.

I should add here that he may now also be charged with whatever they decide because fleeing the boundaries they imposed will make him appear guilty as the court of public opinion has already adjudicated. So, yes, it may be that they will charge him with murder now, but that's not what the real reason for the warrant is because if it had been, he would have been apprehended for a murder charge on Friday when he was still here. Between Friday and Sunday is when he disappeared and it's very unlikely that they uncovered more than they already knew on Friday in that little time and on a weekend. They now just have a better reason to arrest him and the charges might be more serious than just fleeing the state.

We'll see about that. They may have had the right to tell him not to leave the state, but maybe not. He wasn't on bail or anything. We will just see what they say today. Could be a call to turn himself in by Fri. Or face charges of fleeing, too. Well, soon it will all be clear. It wouldn't surprise me if he was already in custody before they announce anything.

Char, the fact that he talked to the prosecutor doesn't make him accessible to the police. His chat with the prosecutor might have been the very catalyst that made him want to abscond, along with thinking that his life is in danger anyway. That's the only point I am making here. Sure, he may be arrested with other charges now, but that wasn't the reason I responded to you in the first place here. You don't seem to understand what accessibility means when police tell a suspect that they need to remain available at any time for further questioning. They take names, addresses and phone numbers of anyone associated with the person so that if he's not at his residence, they can still easily access the suspect.

I would also imagine that if he does get arrested for murder charges or any other charges now, his bail will be astronomical only because he'll now be considered a flight risk, but I'm also sure that the high amount of bail will be a big headline reading how guilty he must be and what scathing evidence they must have to have set the bail so high. We'll see on that too.

I said above, the prosecutor isn't allowed to talk to him when he has an attorney, is she? I think that he must have told her they didn't represent him, or could have. That would explain them coming out saying they don't. You could be right, she might have told him to come in to be arrested, and he hoofed it. I hope not. If he did take off, he won't get ANY bail, will he?

Ps, I don't necessarily think he left the area between Fri and Mon. I think he left way sooner, for safety. The lawyers only said they were now unable to communicate, he would not call them back.

I didn't also say that the prosecutor tipped him off or that they said anything at all about the possiblity of his arrest. How you got that from what I did say is beyond my comprehension. I just said that the conversation might have frightened him in some way to cause him to think about fleeing. He might not get any bail at all, yes, that's true. But the point, one more time, will be because he is a flight risk and not necessarily because they have so much evidence against him, though it will be portrayed that way, I am 99% sure.

Oh, OK. I agree, the bail amount is typically based a lot on whether they are a flight risk. I actually brought up the bit about them maybe discussing an arrest, not thinking at all you said that. If he convinced her he wasn't represented, she COULD HAVE discussed arrangements with him. And yes, the attorneys made it very clear, he never retained them except as pro bono advisors.

And YES, they will make like it proves there is a great case, which is not necessarily so.

Just breaking on our local news, AP says Zimmerman is in custody and will face 2nd degree murder charges.

He turned himself in.

What a mess this is.
