Cher Lloyd is only 18, but she is convinced she is ready to marry her boyfriend, Craig Monk. The two met when Craig was called upon to give Cher hair extensions. Who knew one could find true love at the salon? Cher confirmed her engagement and could not help but gush about her desire to run down the aisle as soon as possible.
Rumors the two were engaged began circulating back in January, but they were never confirmed, until now. Cher tells the Daily Mirror, "I'm engaged and want to get married as soon as possible." She knows her rather young age may cause some people to worry, but she is confident her hairdresser fiancé is the one.
"I love Craig and he makes me happy," the "Swagger Jagger" singer declares.
Cher knows her decision to marry young will irritate some folks and will open her up to even more criticism, but the cocky girl does not care. She tells haters and skeptics, "I know I am going to spend the rest of my life with him." Isn't young love grand? Hopefully, Cher Lloyd can make a marriage work, but in all honesty, the odds are against her.
She is very young for one thing and celebrity marriages seem to be doomed from the get go. Who knows, maybe Cher and Craig will break the mold and have the marriage written about in fairy tales.
