Gainesville, Florida, police are investigating what they believe may have been a “racially motivated†attack early Tuesday morning stemming from the nationally covered Trayvon Martin case involving the tragic death of an unarmed 17-year-old.
According to local news affiliates, a 27-year-old Gainesville man was walking home from the bars early Tuesday morning when he said he was jumped by five to eight men who yelled “Trayvon†before the attack. The call before the attack appears to be in reference to the Sandford case that has rocked national headlines, and led to broader societal discussions on crime and race. News4Jax reports:
"Gainesville investigators told The Gainesville Sun that they believe Tuesday morning’s attack stemmed from the Martin case.
“We do believe that the crime was racially motivated,†Gainesville Police Department spokeswoman Cpl. Angelina Valuri said.
Valuri said the victim was white and the attackers were black."

Imagine the outrage in White communities if Trayvon had been White.
But what does Obama have to do with this issue?
I am not a Barack Obama fan, but I will vote for him in November. He is by better than the opposition, who threaten national health care, Medicare, Social Security, collective bargaining rights and womens reporductive rights. The Republicans are also the party of war, had we had a Republican president we would be at war with Syria now.
The party of war, the war on women, the war on races; it's all propaganda and the left is lapping it up. Fortunately, the left is the only side lapping it up. Remember November 2010...2012 will be part two.
Where is the outrage for this case? The only reason Obama weighed in on the Zimmerman/Martin case was to ratchet up his lunatic left fringe base to call for vigilante justice.
I'm just glad that Obama didn't succeed in taking away our right to bear arms.
Where's the outrage from the left about the warmonger in the White House? Is that only when a republican is president?
I don't have to worry about gun laws. I live in an open carry state with self-defense laws in place. Because I have the right to bear arms, I fear no one.
Other states, like NY, for example, aren't so fortunate and can be the victim of a crime because they have no gun to defend themselves with.
no one knows what exactly happemed that night. We do know it could have been avoided if Zimmerman had simply followed the dispatchers advice, and not taken a gun to a fist fight. Do I think Zimmerman is a racist. Not no , but hell no. Do I think he profiled martin? Yes. Some people of color do profile each other. Just to show you how people like you can be talkked into voting agianst your intrest. You and Romney say Obama has a war on women , yet romney went along with the Governor of Wis. when he repealed a bill /law that guaranteed equal pay for women. I assume Glenn Beck and the blaze did not have that story.
