April showers for Genre Shorties

April showers bring May flowers, or so I’m told they should,

But daffodils are drowning, sunk in April’s glorious mud;

Would flower if they could.

 

Sorry, I changed an and into an or--perhaps "and" so they surely should? I like the "or" better though.

As our flowers got buried under snow yesterday, I think I prefer the mud. A great story for the prompt.

Cute, Sheila. We have daffodils in bloom but mud on the trails.

A lot only think about what others have had and not all of the negative they have had most of their lives because they cannot relate if they are not a clone.

We haven't had any rain since April began but we have had snow!! Your post sounds much better than our frozen plants!
