Andrea Blackwell has reportedly been missing since April 1st and her family is making appeals to the media in hopes of finding her. The 24-year-old Georgia woman is also described as having bipolar disorder, which is markered by suicidal tendencies among other behavioral and mental symptoms. Her mother says that she had not been taking the necessary medication for keeping her condition under control and that she had last claimed to check herself into a hospital for a panic attack. With it being approximately a week her family is worried, and for good reason.
However, their worries aren't regarding the young woman's bipolar disorder and lack of medication; nor do they appear to be worried about the suicidal connotations associated with this mental condition. With there being very little information online about this disappearance, it's hard to gauge just what may be going on in this case. It's probably safe to assume that the family of Andrea Blackwell contacted the Northside Hospital in Atlanta, GA to check if and when she admitted herself and if she had been released. Obviously this has led them to contacting the police and the media regarding her mysterious disappearance, but it's not reported whether they had or not.
Actually, the family of this missing woman believe that she was abducted and held against her will. They believe that her cellphone had been taken away from her, to keep her from contacting her loved ones or getting online. She is described as an ordinarily social person who has "virtually disappeared" online.
Her public Facebook page currently contains a message from her cousin, stating that she has been missing for several days and they are seeking information about her whereabouts. It's sad that this woman, who is appears to be a fan of Auburn University, has been missing under such strange circumstances without even contacting her family. It's apparent that she does, in fact, have a heavy online presence, so it is indeed strange that she has not been online in around a week.
So, was Andrea Blackwell abducted or did she end up doing something to herself as a result of her Bipolar Disorder? Certainly this is a tough question to weigh in anyone's mind, especially if you're a loved one of this missing woman. Nonetheless, all avenues must be explored here until she is found. Hopefully she is brought home safely and is somewhere recovering from a panic attack unable to use her phone. Hopefully she is in a hospital and not in any true danger. Unfortunately, there isn't enough information about this young woman to make any true speculations.
Does she have a history of disappearing? Does she have an ex boyfriend or any former friends who are now enemies? It's reported that she does not have a boyfriend currently, but aren't there always exes in pretty young women's lives? More details would be nice, but hopefully this case ends before any more are needed.
