If Aishwarya Rai was hoping to kickstart a "privacy" trend in Bollywood she's not done a very good job. Though she's closely guarded her newborn daughter's privacy by not revealing a photo or even her name, other stars have failed to follow suit.
The most recent Bollywood beauty to spill the details on her children is Celina Jaitley. The actress and her husband, Austrian hotelier Peter Haag, welcomed twin boys on March 24th, and Celina took almost no time in giving the boys a very modern welcome to the world.
"On their two-week birthday, we presented our sons with their Twitter IDs," read one of Celina's tweets today. Her sons, Winston (really?) and Viraj, aren't even old enough to hold their heads up but they already have Twitter handles (and names--you hear that Aishwarya?).
Now certainly no one's demanding that Aishwarya sign Beti B up for a Twitter account (Twitter accounts for babies being one of the most obnoxious things a parent can do), but it'd be nice if she'd take a page from her fellow Bollywood moms (not just Celina Jaitley but also Lara Dutta, who gave birth to a daughter shortly after Aishwarya did) and at the very least inform her fans of what name she's given her daughter. At the moment, it's assumed that Beti B is being called Aaradhya, but no one in the family will confirm the fact. In fact, Amitabh Bachchan steadfastly refused to so much as nod yes or no when asked yesterday if Aaradhya was the correct name for Aishwarya's daughter.
It's tempting to think that Celina is being as forthcoming as she is about her sons due to the backlash she's seen Aishwarya receive for being so guarded and paranoid, but considering how fond Celina is of, erm, revealing herself it really shouldn't be a surprise how open she's being with her new family. It's not really asking so much for Aishwarya to be even a fraction as forthcoming as Celina and Lara have been, is it?
