The sky opens up to reveal
the milky moon draped in the
blue velvet and glitter of the night
I ponder upon the ether
what words will drop into my mind
find their way through my heart
thread a winding path into my fingertips
to vibrate to the place where you are
I wonder if you know how
the milky way is less textured
without you here with me
and the silence is only broken
by the wind on nights like these
My feathered pen dips into the ink
caresses the ivory parchment paper
looking to grasp the perfect words
for you, my love
they dance in front of my eyes
but I cannot capture them
I watch as they circle, flutter
then disappear into the horizon

Thank you for sharing with Gather’s Luminous Writers & Artists where it's now featured.
About the milky way-
I am lactic intolerant
and about the love-
you still is my favorite aunt.
and about your poem-
it is the nearest star.
Oftentimes love is found not while we are looking, but while we are breathing to give love.
