Kim Kardashian and Kanye West may be the new hot-button couple on the Kardashian scene, not that the continued drama surrounding the reality TV show diva's divorce from Kris Humphries isn't still making waves. However, it is Humphries' sister, Kaela, who is stealing her own glimmer of the spotlight having just landed a lucrative campaign for The Limited's plus-size line, eloquii, via her new agency, Ford Models' Ford +. It sounds like she may have been the only one associated with the Kardashian-Humphries match to have made a positive out of a negative (that is, unless one counts K.K.'s new resolve, as revealed in UK Cosmopolitan, to not televise her romantic relationships anymore).
Indeed, Kaela Humphries seems to have profited from what little fame was flung her way through her association, albeit a brief one, with Kim Kardashian, as her "name" surely caught Ford's attention. Ironically, she's kind of even following in the footsteps of her ex sister-in-law who has posed for many a campaign, including those of her and her sisters' own fashion line.
But Kaela assures she was modeling long before her bro put a ring on it and before Kourtney and Kim Take New York hit the small screen. Four years ago, she says she was "discovered" in Minnesota and then was picked up and later dropped by Wilhemina. Fast forward four years and one reality TV wedding, and she's got a contract with Ford's plus-size division.
"It's been really great," Kaela admitted to People of her eloquii début. "The line is really fashion forward, the clothes fit and they look amazing. It's been a really good experience." She definitely poses pretty in the colorful, trendy ensembles, even making dreaded horizontal stripes look stylish and slimming. The Limited obviously wasn't concerned about any potential negative association with the Kim Kardashian-Kris Humphries debacle when they hired Kaela Humphries—that drama was all so last year anyway.
