Are Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson actually married? If the tabloid rumors are true, this might have been the quietest celebrity wedding of all time. Talk about strange.
Wait a minute, this is the same Ms. Simpson, right? She tends to say the first thing that comes to her mouth, unfiltered at times. How could this little nugget of news slip past everyone? Jessica has recently been quite candid about her pregnancy, even doing a very revealing baby-bump magazine cover photo shoot. She talks about her fashion line and about spending millions of dollars on the new baby's nursery. She even has spilled the beans about her sex life with Eric Johnson.
Somehow she may have omitted the fact that she is no longer engaged... she is married. Well, actually, she may not be quite so married!
In Touch magazine, however, claims that Eric Johnson and Jessica Simpson tied the knot behind closed doors last month. According to their sources, Johnson was very uncomfortable about bringing a child into the world without the commitment of marriage so they made the marriage official. Conveniently, the tabloid also says that Jessica only went along with this if she could still have the big, public wedding ceremony at a later date.
Of course, one must take rumors like this with an enormous (like Jessica Simpson's baby bump) grain of salt. Could it have happened? Maybe, though highly unlikely. All it takes is one supposed "insider" to concoct a story about a wedding and the gossip rag will print it. Such is the life of celebrity, always having to deal with stories about things that have not actually happened in your life... like Jessica and Eric getting hitched in a private ceremony last month.
