I'm sorry that Trayvon Martin died. Â Perhaps the George Zimmerman instance will serve as a cautionary tale to other would be heroic neighborhood watch members. Â Of course, maybe Treyvon was not quite as innocent as he is portrayed.

Â
Gated communities usually have gates for a reason. Â Maybe there wasn't tight security. Â Who knows? Â I guess there are a couple of different angles at play here. Â Maybe there was over zealousness on the part of George Zimmerman. Â I don't know. Â Maybe Mr. Zimmerman's ethic attitudes about poor response time of police officers had something to do with his choices. Â Maybe the special attorney will turn the case over to a grand jury to investigate, but it is perhaps more likely that a decision will be made at the state attorney level as to weather or not to seek prosecution.
Will the Zimmermans be given new identities and relocated out of fear for their safety? Â Who knows? Â It probably won't be that big of a deal, but if the Al Sharptons, and others keep pressing for a mob mentality, things could get out of hand.

Zimmerman should not have followed the boy, should not have made him feel threatened, should not have approached him in any way.
Not that I expect others to change pre-conceived notions about what happened. Most people may know of some personalities who fancy themselves to be keepers of order, who probably are not authorized to act in a law enforcement capacity. But we shouldn't really jump to conclusions.
Tulsa had five black people shot in the span of an hour, and there is a task force being set up.
Trayvon happened to be staying at that gated community~it was the home of his father's fiance, or didn't you know that?!! Plus, it would help if you spelled his name right!
Thursday, I was still in my yard and standing behind a large tree. I locked the door and grabbed the suitcase. It made a clicking sound like guns make before they are fired. The Black man and his dog were just walking past then and the sound startled the man. I qucikly put my hands in the air where he could see them and said, "Good morning." Then we walked off in opposite directions.
He lives in the neighborhood; he should not have been startled and he should be able to walk his dog in peace.
We live in a scary world.
