baby steps

I realized that some changes will have to be made in my apartment.

When the bathroom ceiling fell, the grit and plaster dust damaged a lot of clothing. When I get home I change clothes and rarely hang them right up. Nor do I put all my shoes away immediately.

I've now started to take those steps.

A few weeks ago, I started to catalog my teaching material that I no longer want to keep. I figured maybe someone who is home schooling mght be able to use it. Although a few people answered my query, no one requested the material.

I plan on returning to freecycle to see if I can palm it off that way. (At least I can meet someone rather than having to pay for postage.)

I have NO problem giving things away - it's just the wholesale discarding that is stressful (and I feel, wasteful).

As tough as times are in education my friend your supplies would help so many people. I wish I could use your material. I teach kids who have profound mental challenges and am always looking for teaching material. I believe your kindness will make a big difference to a lucky teacher or teachers. We have 18 more days till school is done for the year. We had 13 furlough days last year and think we will have at least as many this year.

My but your school ends early. I have to go until the first week of June. Well actually I should say ours lasts until then...as a volunteer I don't HAVE to go, but I want to.

OMG! Kevin! I'd LOVE to send you anything I can!
I'll be out of town for 3 weeks, so when I get back... or right before school starts next. I have TONS of material for the sped kids.
Send me your e-mail in a message and I'll send you the list of what I've cataloged so far. I have the Sullivan Readers (not in entirety) which are programmed reading books for learning reading phonetically,

I have to get into my closets and hiding places and sort. I know I have many things that I don't use any longer that would be useful to others.

I think someone will be very happy to take your teaching materials. Like Kevin said, times are tough and teachers cannot afford to buy all the things they need. I use Freecycle and think it's a great site.

man we took major baby steps,, hubby off for daughter wedding and he went bezerk in closet,, we dont wear half of it so we clean it out and only keep what fit now,, make more room now.. our next step he threaten to take another week off and clean out boxes.. oh oh

I've got a few bags of clothing ready to go to be donated. Sometimes there's a down side to losing a bit of weight... LOL
