On my quest for a better well being I have researching on alternative homeopathic treatments, much of my findings have come from reading about the benefits of Essential Oils. I was pleasantly surprised to find an abundant amount of information on the web for free, along with talking with my sister who has been using homeopathic remedies and eating organic for years out of sheer fear what effects the hormones and chemicals added to consumer products will do to her daughters. Along with being part of the Ayurvedic healing concepts to achieve the right doshic balance needed for good health.
Essential Oils come from plants and are highly concentrated, most are steam distilled, which is a method using a 'low-pressure' still which produces the best quality oil because it doesn’t add anything to the oil like chemicals. Oils are stored in dark colored glass bottles such as amber or cobalt blue because they block out the light that can deteriorate the healing qualities of the oil. I will say that I found quality oils are very expensive. So I researched different oil companies, the 2 my sister uses which is Aura Cacia and Oshadi, along with Eden’s Garden, Young Living, NOW Foods and Plant Therapy. The company I have chosen is Eden's Garden because they do not add bases, fillers or additives to any of their oils and they are guaranteed to be 100% pure therapeutic grade essential oil. Theirs are steam distilled; they don’t test on animals and are of the lowest in price. My sister advised me that a low price may indicate a lesser quality product, so I researched more. I found they are not a publically traded company and do not distribute wholesale, so there isn’t a middleman which keeps the costs down. Although they do charge shipping costs, I can appreciate their business model and will pay the shipping costs.
I found that there are many essential oil remedies that can be beneficial for a myriad of ailments. I researched quitting smoking, neurological problems, MS and Rheumatoid, because my mom has RA. My mother and I went to our local health food store to smell some of them so I could order them online. I know that different brands may have difference, but it was just to get an idea. This is just a few that I found, they all smell nice on their own except the Frankincense, I was not able to smell that at the health food store.

- My sister sent me a $25 Amazon gift card for Easter, so after 3 days of looking at oils and aromatherapy supplies I opted to try a gift set because it will allow me to sample the quality of their oils. I only paid one shipping charge and it’s cheaper than ordering 6 bottles separately. I chose the Synergy Blends Sampler Set. I ordered it Thursday night and received an email yesterday morning that it already shipped! My first project will be making some soy candles, I already have all the supplies that I purchased the week I broke my foot 2 years ago and have not gotten around to making them.
