Poor Liam Payne has been given a bit of grief for looking for girls on the internet, but now he's trying to clarify claims that he's looking for cyber love.
One Direction is set to appear on iCarly today, so the guys sat down to do a Nickelodeon interview in order to promote the episode entitl
ed iGo One Direction (like it actually needs anymore promotion). Liam's love life was one of the topics discussed, but luckily the conversation didn't get too raunchy (Nick is a kids' network, after all).
After Liam accused some of his band mates of "browsing" for women, Louis Tomlinson joked that the group caught him on a dating website, with his better half Harry chiming in to say, "Liam likes to talk to girls on the internet." (Larry Stylinson just can't resist causing trouble whenever possible.)
Liam Payne was then forced to defend himself by saying that he recently mixed up his words during an interview. He had previously said that he likes to talk to girls on the internet, but he tried to clarify his comment by saying that he just talks to fans, not "random" girls. So he hasn't been browsing dating sites or having dirty chat sessions with strange women. Poor Liam still had a hard time getting across what he originally meant this time around, but he was probably just trying to say that he likes to read what One Direction fans have to say about the band online, and maybe he also likes to say a few friendly words to them every now and then (the key word here being "friendly").
After all, the internet is really the only safe place that 1D can communicate with Directioners - if they tried to talk to their fans in public, their clothes would get torn to shreds and girls would crush one another to get to the guys.
Liam Payne probably also felt some pressure to clarify his comments about meeting girls on the internet because he's currently dating Danielle Peazer. Hopefully she feels a bit better after hearing his explanation.
You can check out the guys having a good laugh at Liam's expense below, and don't forget to watch them on iCarly and SNL today.
