Trayvon Martin- Racist or Merely Racial?

The Trayvon Martin case has officially taken on a life of its own.

It has developed its own web sites, lexicon, trademarks, legends and unwarranted gravitas. Like the Boston Massacre, the sinking of the Maine and the Battle of the Alamo, the myth will subsume reality.

Jo Jo has been on the road in his new Black Camaro with the XM radio and the "I B BAD" vanity plates. To keep himself sane as he motors from McGee, Mississippi to Waco, Texas, he switches back and forth between Fox News and CNN, MSNBC getting the latest "facts" on the "Martin and Zimmerman" show, as it has now obviously become.

Irrespective of your cultural view point, racism is both stupid and unscientific. It defies the findings of the Human Genome Project which tells us that "racial" attributes are superficial and invironmentally induced, not inherent and unchangable traits.

Consequently, improving socio-economic conditions, mutual cultural assimilation and tolerance should (and, in many cases, have) put an end to it...

But, some people like to keep the "outrage" of the 60's alive for their own personal agenda.

They like to find some "atrocity", somewhere, spew their hate and move on before the actual facts are known...Trayvon Martin being the most recent example...It is their stock in trade.

Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, the New Black Panthers...even MLK, Jr. It is their claim to fame... their raison d'etre...

And the liberal main stream press and the radical liberal press are right there with them. The NBC editing of the 911 tapes is absolute proof of an already obvious fact. The press is biased and in league with the race baiters. It advances the political agenda of the "gate keepers" who choose what news we see and how it is presented. (Have you noticed that every headline and teaser today is increasingly shrill?) And, it hypes ratings and sells papers.

The Trayvon Martin case is a perfect example...As it turns out, racism has very little or nothing to do with it and yet the race baiters, with the aid of the liberal media, have (to use the phrase de jur ) "doubled down" on the racial rhetoric to keep the hate alive and the masses enflamed. They blithely ignore the actual facts as they come to light.

It keeps the country polarized by hackneyed platitudes with no middle ground or common sense in sight with everyone sniping at everyone else over which factoid proves that the other guy is a moron and a bigot.

Just like they like it...

It keeps them in a job...

They are the racists and provocateurs, pure and simple...

this was a very sad set of circumstances - personally, i wish they would continue the investigation privately so that we may see what else is happening in the world.

Me too, Morgan. Still, I am disappointed but not surprised nobody is in a big hurry to shout what was really said on the tape. Now that it has been analyzed, and it isn't racial at all, they just don't talk about it, leaving the false impression intact. Are they embarrassed? They should be!

I cant believe some peoples ability to want to hate... In the US a person is Supposed to be innocent Until proven guilty... This is back in the wild west days, the days of, for REAL racism.... the kind that pulled people out of jail cells or homes and lynched them, or burned crosses in their yard... These people are looking for someone to hate... Do they think this will justify a young mans life... To me, they are making a mockery of his demise by cashing in on all of this... Its one thing if they feel that justice wasnt served, but do it the right way... Many times when Sharpton gets involved, it turns out to be bogus... He is looking for trouble and yes, he is the racist...

I don't know anything about the "collectivists" or the "teapartyer's" but I agree with vickey in the 'looking for some one to hate'. It's just like the people who need something to complain about. they will never be happy. the people who are shouting 'racist' seem to be the ones who still have anger issues over segregation. (I don't blame them - I'd be angry too) but at some point we need to move forward.
i think the racial issue is kinda funny really... don't white people have racial issues with hispanics too?

I noticed that, a day or so after being busted for editing that 911 tape, and NBC executive said they were conducting an investigation into how it happened. Sounded good, but there’s been nothing since then from them.

I remember the days of real journalism when a newspaper or TV or radio station news report was found to be wrong -- it was a feeding frenzy. Every other paper and station would rip into the offender because they actually believed in what they were doing. Today? None of them seem to care.

There isn't really anything to "ignore".

Why don't we analyze every unfortunate event that happens everyday. Let's start with all of the other black on black, black on white, white on black, Hispanic on black, black on Hispanic, White on Hispanic, Hispanic on white, white on white, Hispanic on Hispanic (did I miss any possible combination) act of violence for it's "outrage" value...

And, why don't you familiarize your self with both sides of the case before you comment further...

is there a different way to spell the "F" word?
Though I myself am prone to use it vocally - I find the spelling of it to be slightly offensive... how does it look in German?

"Frigging"... or, its slightly less offensive cousin..."Fricking"

In Vietnam, the ladies of the evening said "Hocking" as in..."You numba hocking 10 GI...VC come COCKATOW you" (most effective with slitting motions across the throat and some spitting...)

In German, the word "Fuck" is both pronounced and spelled "Fuck"...

I remember the librarian coming to my grade six class and confiscating it, I guess I was too young for all the fugging. Yeah, it was prevalent, all right. Fug this, fug that, one big fug.
