Prometheus Bound: Meet the Crew, While You Still Can

The juggernaut that is Ridley Scott's Prometheus, has once again vamped up its attention grabbing campaign by releasing new stills.

In the trailers revealed at this year's Wondercon and the Imax trailer before it, the dial was firmly switched to terror. Now, with these new stills of the crew, potential audiences are given a chance to take a closer look at the personalities Scott will be hoping you will come to care about during the film.

Because that's what it's all about really. Scott's latest epic looks brilliant and expectations are deservedly high, but to take it from good to great, and from great to seminal—audiences will need to make an emotional connection with the crew's characters. So who are they?

First up, the original, Swedish Girl with the Dragon Tatoo, Noomie Rapace, who plays archaeologist Elizabeth Shaw, the emotional heart of Prometheus, just as Sigourney Weaver's, Ripley, was the core of Alien.

But there is a counterbalance. Welcome Charlize Theron, playing Meredith Vickers, someone you definitely wouldn't want to tangle with in deep space, or anywhere else for that matter.

Of course, no sci-fi, Ridley Scott film would be complete without an android. Thankfully, Michael Fassbender's—David—gives great synthetic.

Benedict Wong, Idris Elba, Emun Elliot, Sean Harris, Rafe Spall and Logan Marshall-Green, among others, complete the team that will ship out on June 8.
