President Obama spars with the United States Supreme Court in his efforts to keep Obamacare, but is he in a war he can't and shouldn't win? Obama came out swinging claiming the Supreme Court is not an elected body of judges. Basically, he is making a ruling of his own, but in return, Justice Smith, whom Reagan appointed slapped back!
The Justice demands a single-spaced letter from Attorney General Erick Holder explaining this administrations' views on the separation of powers. In other words he is calling on Obama to explain himself.
According to ABC News, "'I would like to have from you by noon on Thursday… a letter stating what is the position of the Attorney General in the Department of Justice in regard to the recent statements by the President — stating specifically, and in detailed reference to those statements, what the authority is in the federal courts in this regard in terms of judicial review,' Smith told a government lawyer in a recording of the hearing released by the court."
“'The letter needs to be at least three pages, single-spaced and it needs to be specific,' he added."
This is a battle of judicial power over executive power. Many conservatives have always felt that judicial power overstepped its place when ruling such as Roe vs. Wade goes against them. However, this may be the first time a liberal sitting President questioned the authority of the judicial branch of government.
Many say the President as the single most powerful man in the country and in the world, may be trying to bully his healthcare plan, but the United States Supreme Court will not be bullied, and they don't bow to Obama or to popular opinion.
Obamacare will rise or fall based on whether it is constitutional, and Obama will just have to deal with. While around 67% of Americans are against Obamacare, Obama is claiming that if this measure fails, it may help him in his re-election bid.
Does he not get that we are done listening to his nonsense and his promises? He is kidding. Surely, he must be kidding!

The Judicial branch is a check and balance of the Executive Branch. This was set up for a reason or we would have a dictatorship

Do you remember when Justice Alito mouthed "not true" during a state of the union address in 2010? He mouthed that after Obama said, "Last week, the Supreme Court reversed a century of law to open the floodgates for special interests - including foreign corporations - to spend without limit in our elections," Obama said. "Well I don't think American elections should be bankrolled by America's most powerful interests, or worse, by foreign entities. They should be decided by the American people, and that's why I'd urge Democrats and Republicans to pass a bill to correct some of these problems."
His comments are so naive it's laughable!

this as you say, is the second time he insulted scotus - NOT a bright move, but then again i have been illustrating for over 2 years, that he is not bright at all.
and the biggest problem is, is is not suposed to be the most powerful man in the world - just the potus of the most powerful country, with equal power to the legislature, and the judicial system.
he has attempted repeatedly, and many times achieved, a castration of both.

IMO Obama wants this to be the next chaos of division among the American People.
If we didn't have health care reform, we wouldn't have that dependent clause and my sons would not have health insurance. I'm relieved they do.
